Brighter Side

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

When I was a young boy about the age of seven, I bought an ice cream cone after hours of asking for my mom for the money. Money is a bit tight that time and aside from my school allowance, asking for extra money can be really difficult. I was delighted with my ice cream cone that I did not notice a big stone on my way, I slipped and the ice cream fell in the ground. I was about to cry when a lady asked me to take off my shoes and step on the ice cream. I did what she said and I felt a tingling cold sensation in my sole and in my toes. Then the lady told me that I am lucky because I am the only child in the whole neighborhood that experienced such luxury of having an ice cream in between my toes.

Life

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

My family and I have been living a comfortable life since I could remember. We are three siblings in the family and we are all studying in an international school. We have an imposingly huge house in one of the most expensive subdivision in the state. We never eat cold cuts at home, we always have cuisine served to us by uniformed server. But after a hurricane had a landfall  in our place, everything changes. Our huge house was crashed and all our properties were damaged. We started from scratch. Now we need to all work together and cut down unnecessary expenses. We transferred to public schools and we now eat burgers and fries for dinner. Life is like a wheel, sometimes you are up sometimes you are down.
